Tyrant tells the story of an unassuming American family drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. Bassam “Barry” Al Fayeed (Adam Rayner), the youngest son of a war-torn country’s controversial dictator, returns to his homeland after a self-imposed 20-year exile in America for his nephew’s wedding. Upon his return, Barry is immediately thrown back into the familial and national politics of his youth. As he braces himself to confront the stark realities of his father and older brother Jamal’s (Ashraf Barhom) harsh rule, Barry is unable and unwilling to make his all-American family understand his unease over returning home. His wife, Molly (Jennifer Finnigan), struggling to comprehend her husband’s apprehension, uncovers a romantic history involving Leila (Moran Atias), Jamal’s beautiful wife. Emma (Anne Winters), their 15-year-old daughter, adores her father and shares his disdain for the extravagances of her extended family. Meanwhile, their son, 16-year-old Sammy (Noah Silver), revels in the lavish lifestyle their royal” status brings, but dangerously tests cultural divides with his poorly disguised interest in handsome family bodyguard Abdul (Mehdi Dehbi). Of Wolf and Man
While predators continue to cause problems for a number of the men, water soon becomes a crucial hurdle for others. From fast rising tides to relentless rains, each of the men must adapt to his new environment or tap out and go home.

The Talons of Fear
After only a short time in the wild, the men find that extreme isolation is beginning to take its toll. A survivalist undertakes a massive cabin project, one man loses his most important tool and another is charged by a large predator.

Stalked
As the days pass, the remaining survivalists show signs of cracking. One man battles isolation as another breaks down after missing his daughters 4th birthday.

Winds of Hell
A punishing storm batters the remaining men and gale force winds rip through their makeshift camps. One survivalist pushes his bush-craft skills to limit trying to find a way to set sail on the turbulent seas.

Rain of Terror
The remaining participants are finally adapting to the unforgiving environment but the search for food leads them into harms way. One man is forced to abandon his new boat miles from camp.

The Hunger
In the brutally freezing temperatures the hunt for food becomes the paramount focus of the remaining survivalists.

After the Rescue
The first six men to go home explain their reasons for leaving, plus an exclusive preview of the what's to come for the remaining participants.

Temperatures plummet on the island and the remaining contestants are forced to face the onset of winter head on. One man risks it all with a risky move while everyone struggles with the ongoing effects of isolation and freezing temperatures.

The relentless elements continue to punish most of the men while one receives an unexpected gift on the shores near his camp.

Triumph
Two men remain on Vancouver Island as the storm of the year blows in. The unrelenting elements, isolation and starvation confront both remaining participants, forcing one to go home.
