CNN Films Presents collaborated with director/producer Gédéon and Jules Naudet and retired Manhattan firefighter James Hanlon for a new anniversary edition of the film, "9/11." The Naudets and Hanlon were embedded with different teams of the Duane Street New York Fire Department company on Sept. 11, 2001, with a shoot that began as a film about the training of a rookie New York firefighter. Jules Naudet filmed one of the only images of the fateful moment of impact American Airlines Flight 11 crashing into Tower One of the World Trade Center. The three filmmakers documented the heroic rescue efforts of the first responders to the terrorist attacks for a gripping, evocative, minute-by-minute account of that harrowing day, capturing the only video from within and around the Twin Towers during their collapse. Now, 15 years on, the filmmakers talk to the surviving members of the firehouse, as well as their family members, about that day, and their lives in the days and years since. This edition of the film includes a poignant introduction by actor and producer Denis Leary.
