The Palu Family: Under a Dark Spell

On the surface, the Palus were a typical family with strong ties to their faith and community in Körfez, Turkey. But when their patriarch Harun was incarcerated for murder, his son-in-law Tuncer took over as head of the extended Palu family and began to construct a disturbing new reality for all involved. Under the guise of getting rid of demons known as "jinns," Tuncer used the family's beliefs to subject them to constant prayer, controlled food intake, and displacement from their homes -- while some members of the family were reported missing.
