The Last Movie Stars

On his 50th birthday, Arthur Ahnepol's monotonous existence is shaken by an unexpected romance with Jesse, a sex worker he can't afford. When he and his wife Martha are ambushed by a man looking to collect what he's owed for Jesse’s services, nothing about their dull and dreary lives will ever be the same.

After being called to the all-too-familiar crime scene, Muriel takes advantage of the opportunity to cover her tracks, but struggles to keep control of the larger investigation. Meanwhile, Arthur makes a major declaration about his future with Jesse -- which Martha does everything to thwart.

Before Arthur can fully execute his plan to escape his wife and start over with Jesse, he must first help Martha and Muriel break into the morgue to derail an autopsy. Then, a tip from Claudia Lehmann prompts Mario's henchmen to pursue Arthur for her husband's death.

Muriel's colleagues inch dangerously close to uncovering the truth after autopsy results reveal a bullet wound. Desperate to exonerate them all, Martha and Muriel decide to switch places while Arthur scrambles to locate the murder weapon.

In her new role as police officer, Martha removes Jerome from the case -- but that doesn't stop him from furthering his own investigation. While Muriel and Arthur explore their past connection and Claudia continues building her case, bodies keep piling up.

Just as Arthur makes a decision about who holds the keys to his heart and plans to put his lifelong dream in motion, Holger tracks down the final piece of incriminating evidence. Later, Arthur risks everything for the one he loves.
