In 1942 Berlin, young Jewish graphic artist Cioma Schönhaus refuses to be intimidated by the Nazis and audaciously adopts the identity of a German naval officer to escape being deported like his family. He joins a network of underground rescuers and becomes infamous for his masterfully forged IDs that save the lives of hundreds of Jews.
