But I liked this one. I really liked the contrast between the Chefs. And I was geeking on Chef Beau's accent. (being from Massachusetts myself).
I think they made excellent hosts. While I disagree with the outcome. It was exciting to watch. Mostly because of Chef Anne and Chef Beau. Rude? Mean?? that is what Chefs are. They are much like artists who have others cooking and framing their art. They want you to make what they want the way they want it. And after all if the service was great the atmosphere romantic but the food sucked? Why eat there? People go to restaurants for food, I think these two Chefs handled the "recruits with the right balance of support and whip cracking to turn them into real amateur Chefs, not just cooks. A cook makes wonderful tasting food, a Chef makes wonderful tasting food, that looks great, isn't from a cook book, does it on a budget and on time! The last two the most important. It might seem a little unfair to ask "everyday people" who just want to cook to perform at that level, but once they do, putting together a five course Sunday dinner for the inlaws just became easy...
