Trigun is an animae that tells a story. You won't laugh through the whole episodes nor will they be sorrow fests. The how seems to find the right balance between somber and break into funny to lighten the mood. If you want to try the series watch more than one episode. If you took a single episode weather it is the first or any random episode you will not be able to grasp the depth and story line. So give it a couple of episodes before you pass judgement. Also keep your reviews honest. This is not Full Metal, Inuyasha, or FLCL so don't judge it as such. Personally I love trigun and would reccomend it to anyone to watch. I have to admit when I saw it on cartoon network I was not able to watch much and what I did see I didn't like but now with it on hulu and I was able to see the whole series and understand the story I love it. So give it a try. Hope you like it!
LOVE AND PEACE!
P.S. Throughout the whole series there is a black cat. WHY IS THERE A BLACK CAT?! Sorry always wondered why the same black cat seems to appear in most of the episodes.
While that was a well thought out and intelligent analysis, the real answer is much simpler.
"Kuroneko-sama" (the cat) is, as the author put it, "she is just something easy and calming to draw in between action scenes"
Some rumors say he is his pet.
