The Bridge

This show will start out a little "run-of-the-mill" but give it a chance.Tthe characters mature, the plot becomes more engaging, realistic and original. Without giving spoilers, I can tell you that the main characters get much darker and more intense as the story moves along. If you liked "the Wire" or "Shield" this series will give you some of that feeling - seeing good people do bad things for good reasons and if you like revenge, there's a few shots of it that will warm your secret mean side. Have fun - this show is worth watching!

Great Writing which is gritty like "Law & Order", but more to do with the internal politics in a police department in the vein of "Davinci's Inquest" "Prime Suspect" {U.K. version is exceptional, but the new U.S. version, although alike in name only is well}, "Blood in the Wire" & "Waking the Dead". I'd never heard of this show from just as recently as a couple of years back... but this first episode was chock a block full of great performances and the kind of gritty injustices the wrong people always seem to get away with.. because their masterful dirty net-workers .. building loyal dirty ties.. while the good people are just fighting to get through the day to return home to the families they love.

This is one of the best shows I have ever watched. The plots twist and turn leading to surprising endings. I find myself rewatching episodes, so I can follow the subtleties. Another great show cancelled; I wish networks new that it takes time for shows to develop a following.
