Notice that 9-year-old Danny is babysitting 5-year-old Tracy. . .I had to do that too when mom went to the store. . .but the neighborhood was filled with mothers at home. If anything happened we had so many moms to help. . .where can a kid do that now? See 4 other replies

Mary J. -- I still remember those Friday nights too -- we ate popcorn. . .and I couldn't care less about what the "in" music crowd thought of bubblegum pop. It was loads of fun for a 9-year-old girl, who loved David Cassidy. It was clever. It was clean. As my 10-year-old son says now: "Things sure were different when you were a kid." He's right. I have great memories of watching this show Friday nights after The Brady Bunch. My younger sister and I would put on out p.j.s and swoon to David Cassidy singing all those great songs. I had posters, and all the albums. Great memories of a happy time in my life. See 4 other replies

I love this show, it was from a much more innocent time in my life and i have so many special memories as a fan of this very special family-oriented show..

I find that most folks either love this show or can't stand it, the divide being the " in music crowd " not going for the bubblegum approach to Rock n Roll. I liked it when it came on ABC 35 years ago and I even like it more now. Considering where we are today with most mainstream rock being canned, labeled garbage, David & Shirley coupled with some of the best songwriters assembled sound wonderful. BTW..Danny Bonaduce was OUTSTANDING in this series..what a child actor! and watch for the overlooked comedy of David Cassidy & Dave Madden on this show..they were truly funny. Get on the bus and enjoy!
