Special Gifts Expressed in Realistic and Appreciated Form while Extremely Entertaining

There are few shows left on television today that truly detail family life, hardship, and the difficulty of balancing work, family and life such as Medium does. Add the unique gift of the main character and the growing talents of the children, captures my attention and keeps me wishing more shows like this were on multiple times a week instead of truly unrealistic "reality tv". Episodes vary but one thing remains: family. I encourage you to watch!

Great balance between supernatural crime solving and real world issues

I don't usually like shows that focus on family, but unlike sitcoms this show uses the main characters family as a source of conflict - her daughters begin to display her talents, how does her husband deal, how do politics and journalists affect her work and family - to create a well rounded supernatural crime show. Sure, she needs to solve the case, but she also has to deal with being a mom and wife. Even more, this show isn't afraid to have long reaching conflicts that completely change the dynamic of character interaction. It's fun and light, and balances philosophical musings on human connections and the dead with family conflicts and the fact that not everyone you meet is going to be nice. This isn't a love 'em and leave 'em type, characters you meet in one episode can come back to have an affect on future plots. It's great to catch individual eps, but it also rewards longtime fans.
