If you see the BBC version called Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares you will understand why Fox makes Gordon Ramsey a hypocrite. If Gordon Ramsey wanted to go around developing quality standards the first place he should take a look at is the American version of the show. The difference in quality of the narriation, camera work, presentation of the characters and the problems, & development of the solution in the British version really highlight the synthetic and cheap feel of the American version. The American versions could be condensed to half-hour by just removing the added-in sound effects, 'dramatic' music and the five minute recaps of what happened in the previous five minutes. It is obvious that Mr. Ramsey doesn't really care, because its about making a boat load of cash- If you have watched any of Mr. Ramseys other television shows like the F-word you would realize he is an ego maniac; and he takes great care to present himself in a positive light and takes great care in his work in the kitchen and on-screen. My hypothesis is that only after Ramsey signed with Fox is when he found out they cancel the good shows like Family Guy and Futurama until five years of pent-up fan demand gets noticed. I mean why be like Family Guy when you could be like Glee, or Hole in the Wall, or Are you Smarter than a Fith Grader? or Moment of Truth, or Mental.... The true test of good vs bad- money vs art- In 15 years will the show still be relevant? The BBC versions- yes. The American version?- Why don't you go back and watch Beverly Hills 90210 and tell me how good it is and how much you want to watch it, how good it is- if you want a good show go rent The Shield from Fox's FX channel- youll know its FX because the volume settings on the roadcast are set to make you deaf like when Ameican Idol is on...
