I agree...she was just unbearable to watch...they finally got rid of her and replaced her with the wonderful Pauline...the best!

Trying to figure out why I believe Martin Clunes is so sexy...he has bad teeth, a double chin, big ears, a puffy upper lip, a rather large girth and sausage-sized fingers...but put it all together and he is just plain old sexy. Can anyone explain his appeal?

Love his Doc Martin character...only thing I cannot forgive him for is when he tells people to "Shut Up" No one, not even the most talented doctor, should be able to get away with that. Very, very rude and wish they would cut that out of the dialogue.

The extra episode is indeed a special that ran at Christmas time. It's two hours. It's quite dramatic. (Explosives, Bert at his entrepreneurial best, high sees and high jinx.) I saw it on the final disc of Season 2 thanks to Blockbuster.

There are a few Doc Martin movies that predate the series and include Martin Clune. The series is only loosely based on those moves with a major reworking of the character, setting, plot, etc. See 3 other replies

Fine acting from the entire cast of unique characters, with intriguing storylines in a beautiful village. Well done. Haven't seen an episode yet that I'd call a stinker.
Kudos to the writing team and actors on this show. I'd buy this on DVD.

Susan, I believe it's referring to the movie "Saving Grace" but I don't remember Clunes' Doctor Martin in the movie being anything like this one. I enjoyed the movie though, I'd recommend especially if you like Craig Ferguson. See 3 other replies

I was searching around on the net for more info on Doc Martin and I found an episode list that showed there was a 2 hour special for season 2. I cannot find any ref to it on hulu and would really like to be able to see it. Please Hulu, get it listed for us Doc fans. Bird watchers mishaps and meeting Louisa father amongst other kwerky Portwenn life.

When will season 4 be available?

Does anyone know the name of the film the searies is based on? And is it available on Hulu? I noticed it was listed at the very end of the credits for season 1, but could not catch the name. It was credited to Craig Ferguson, who I love his late night antics on CBS.
