Description

Sisters Bianca (Meaghan Martin) and Kat (Lindsey Shaw) are two very different people. At their new high school, it's clear that one sister wants to stand out and the other just wants to fit in. Kat is a strong-willed feminist looking to save the world and get out of school as fast as she can. But when she meets the intense Patrick Verona (Ethan Peck), sparks begin to fly. Bianca is a social butterfly whose main goal in life is to be popular, but when the head cheerleader makes her the mascot, she realizes she has a long way to go. IS there going to be a second season??? i watched this whole season because i loved the movie, and i kept hoping it would get better. the cast is hott, but i'm not impressed with wherever they're going with the plot-line and about half of the script was pretty lame. Overall, i was pretty disappointed with this show. it wasn't even a tenth as good as the movie, but it still has potential. See 2 other replies

For all of those booing this show because you have seen the movie, or see it as shakespeare, you are ruining the show for those of us who do not care about either. No show is ever as good as the movie, no movie is ever as good as the book.

Your negative reviews based on thes criterion may take away a show my kids love. So, I suggest you either re-evaluate your opinion of the show based on the show itself, or keep your opinions to yourself.

Even I can relate to the show from my own teenage years. I was Kat and I rode off with my first husband. It did not turn out like I would have liked but maybe by watching the show with my kids I can pretend. After all that is what these shows are for. Some reality, some identifying, and some make believe and wishful thinking.

Our family gives this show 4 thumbs up!!!!

a lot of what is going on in this show is basically an explanation of the play, this has a theoretical time of maybe 12 hours shown...the play and movie were only 3 hours, give it time to show what's going on, and if you ever read a book see a play or watch a movie the writers are rarely, if ever mentioned in the writing

Also the original "10 things I hate about you" is based off Shakespeare's taming of the shrew and personally you i think you can take this as an expansion of the story of the movie and play....so how can people complain when this is (maybe not purposefully) showing the back story to a play by the English language's greatest play write?

People blowing their holes that this show is an insult to their intelligence or the genre of teen movies as a whole need to take a deep breath (or maybe even a Xanax, for Christ's sake) and realize that this show is not meant to be taken THAT seriously. It has its poignant moments but it's not trying to win an Emmy.

And what's all this fuss about comparing the actors, plot lines and overall feel of the show with the movie? Trust me, I saw 10 Things in theatres probably a dozen times. I get the protectiveness. But it's an adaptation. Done 10 years later. The target audience of this show still thought the opposite sex had cooties when this movie was in theatres. They're not gonna know the difference. They just enjoy it for what it is: a fun show that's not out to ruin anything, despite what you might think.

So I'd give it a whirl if you haven't. It's lighthearted (and touching at times), refreshing and great if you need a pick me up. And Lindsey Shaw is absolutely fantastic as Kat. I like the girl who plays Mandela, too. The chic who plays Bianca grew on me fast. At first her acting was like sandpaper but I realized that's just how she's portraying her character and it works. And Ethan Peck aka Patrick Verona...well, he definitely got all his grampy's genes as far as acting and looks go. Total hotness! :)

Was it just me or was that one of the single most lack luster finales ever? Too many things were left unresolved such as the whole Chastity hidden video scenario.

Plus, what was the whole point of Cat driving away on the motorcycle? Somehow I don't she's going to pull a Clark Kent and live in Metropolis while hooked on Red K for a summer. Here she had this great conversation with her Dad over when to pick your battles, this after shows like "The Secret Life of an American Teenager" where its apparently realistic and everyday for kids to get knocked up, and it was finally a move in the right direction for ABC toward giving kids a positive message.

Why did they go and ruin it? They should have left it with Patrick being angry at Kat and her friend not talking to her. They should have left Bianca wondering what to do about Joey, Cameron's we can't be friends, and Chastity should have left us clueless on whether she knew who the blond was. After all, Bianca isn't the one watching the show and in need of a cliffhanger to make me want to come back for another season.

The show over all was great for what it was, another teenage drama, but it could have been so much more. I loved that they included reproduced scenes from the movie, but for about 20 minutes an episode they could have really stepped up the plot line.

Don't they realize that 10 Things I Hate About You was the modern version of The Taming Of The Shrew. It has NOTHING to do with American Teenagers. The premise is supposed to be about the relationships between men and woman, and their roles in society.

Furthermore, this was DECENT as a movie. Do not ruin EVERYTHING with remakes! I hate major production companies so much sometimes....
