Mike Hopkins

Mike Hopkins serves as the CEO of Hulu, one of the leading premium streaming destinations in the U.S. Under his leadership, Hulu has grown its audience to 47 million total unique viewers and expanded its business to include live news, entertainment and sports in addition to its existing subscription-on-demand offering – making it the only pay-TV service that brings together live and on-demand content, original series and a premium streaming library, all in one place, across living room and mobile devices.

Since joining Hulu in 2013, Hopkins has also led the company in building its premium original programming slate, which includes Golden Globe-nominated comedy Casual, fan favorite The Mindy Project, hit drama The Path and this year’s most buzzed-about new series, The Handmaid’s Tale. Hulu’s content offering has also expanded to include thousands of episodes of popular major broadcast and cable networks, movies from EPIX and independent distributors, and full libraries of exclusive programming from AMC Networks and FX Productions, as well as all episodes of current and classic hit series including This is Us, Homeland, Black-ish, Seinfeld, CSI, Empire, Fargo, Nashville, Golden Girls and South Park.

A media executive with more than 20 years of video experience, Hopkins has an extensive track record of both building innovative television products and negotiating landmark distribution agreements. While President of Distribution for Fox Networks, he oversaw the distribution strategy, sales and marketing for the company’s 45 linear and non-linear U.S. channels, as well as on-demand and digital extensions. His team also developed many of the television industry’s leading authenticated and digital video products, including BTN2GO and Fox Now.

Mike resides in Santa Monica with his wife and daughter. He is an acting board member of the UCLA Anderson Board of Visitors, as well as the Paley Center Los Angeles Board of Governors. Mike graduated with an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor’s from California State University, Long Beach.
