Tahar Rahim came onto the scene in the Oscar nominated film, A PROPHET, which garnered him a César Award for Best Actor. He went on to star in THE PAST directed by Asghar Farhadi and THE CUT directed by Faith Akin. Tahar can also be seen starring opposite Adele Exarchopoulos in THE ANARCHISTS, which premiered on opening night of Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival. He recently completed filming Garth Davis’ upcoming epic, MARY MAGEDELENE, starring as “Judas” alongside Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Ali Soufan is a young Muslim-American FBI agent on John O’Neill’s I-49 counter-terrorism squad. He quickly becomes O’Neill’s protégé due to his brilliance, as well as his fluency in Arabic and knowledge of Islam. Ali is outraged by the perversion of his religion by enemies of the United States and uses every tool at his disposal, including going undercover in extremists’ gathering spaces, in order to hunt Al Qaeda and prevent catastrophes.
