It seems like several characters in this movie look similar to other people. For instance, Godfrey Terle (the professor) reminded me very much like FDR (the movie being from 1935 would certainly make this timely). Was it an example of Hitchcock's dark humor to make him a 'bad guy'? Also, I know the great director liked to appear in his movies. Was that him as the heavy-set policeman? Last, the man with the glasses on the train--if you fast forward 29 years, could that be the actor who played Paul McCartney's uncle in "A Hard Day's Night"?
