I really wanted to finish this series. It's a shame that Madhouse, a world renowned animation studio, gave this show such a lazy effort. Don't get me wrong. The story is great and I really enjoyed where it was going but the animation was a constant roadblock. It's a severe hindrance to an anime that if given the proper treatment, could have been a true classic along with Madhouse's other "gun-centric" epic, Trigun. I was a big fan of the SEGA published game for the PS2. When I found out about the anime, I was genuinely excited. So this may be more of a letdown for me than to someone who hasn't played the game. One good thing that did come out of this anime other than the stellar writing is the music which was composed by the very talented Tsuneo Imahori. He not only outdoes the work he did on Trigun but also proves he can stand toe to toe with the best of Hollywood's musical masters.
