Season123
Episode 1

Episode 1

A local soldier called Tony has returned injured from Iraq, and the MOD’s compensation offer is derisory.
Episode 2

Episode 2

Complex crop circles have appeared overnight in a Market Shipborough field, and a local die-hard Sci-Fi enthusiast, Terry, is certain that the symbols contain messages from a higher source. The crop circles are the talk of the town but Geraldine, the farmer who owns the field, is far from pleased. She’s straight into Peter’s office demanding some help against all of this vandalism… whereas Terry is determined that the fields be declared a site of special scientific interest and protected from harvesting… which way to go? Beatrice is filling in for Gloria and doing a rather marvellous job of manning the Kingdom reception, and Peter is warming up for his quiz master stint at the Startled Duck. Peter drops in at the pub and discovers that Ted is hiding a secret wealth of physics knowledge, and actually has some rather reasonable theories about what the crop circles could possibly signify.
Episode 3

Episode 3

Peter is working late when a brick comes through the window, announcing the arrival of the latest member of the Kingdom family – a guinea pig who turns out to have been liberated from the local medical research facility.
Episode 4

Episode 4

Judge Harding is being blackmailed, after a successful honey-trap sting, and has reason to believe Beatrice is behind the anonymous envelopes that keep turning up on his doormat.
Episode 5

Episode 5

Peter is looking forward to a well-earned, restful holiday, fly-fishing in Scotland. His packing is rudely interrupted though by the intrusion of a CCTV camera peeking through his bedroom window. It turns out that the Market Shipborough police department have splashed out on a high tech surveillance system to help cut crime. But Peter is worried about his, and his fellow citizens’, privacy. Meanwhile, a parent is ‘expelled’ from the school concert for videoing his own daughter, and seeks the help of Peter Kingdom, further scuppering his hopes of a tranquil week alone with his rod. And when Lyle’s Mum appears, with an allotment-sized plea for help, dragging Lyle back to Stockport with her, Peter has no choice but to abandon his holiday plans altogether.
Episode 6

Episode 6

Lyle picks Peter up from the hospital, and despite the mollycoddling of Gloria and Auriel, Peter is determined that whatever the tests he’s taken are going to bring up, he’s perfectly fine and happy to go on being Peter Kingdom. Accordingly he buries his head in the sand of a dispute between two brothers; the younger of whom is concerned that the elder – a Duke – is selling off titles and lesser parts of their estate, apparently to fund his heroin habit. The younger brother, David, makes Peter sign a confidentiality agreement – their family has suffered bad publicity in the recent past. In the more distant past though the family has done jolly well, securing Dukedoms and Viscounts aplenty. Peter needs to find out, discretely, if the Duke has the right to sell off these heirlooms. The younger brother, David, is a formal and decent family man; Peter’s first encounter with the Duke, Robert, almost sees him peppered with a shotgun!
