Dan Futterman was nominated for Academy Awards for his screenplays for the films Capote and Foxcatcher. He won Independent Spirit Awards for both films. For Capote, Dan won the USC Scripter Award, as well as the Los Angeles, Boston, Washington DC, and San Diego Film Critics Awards for Best Screenplay. He and his wife, Anya Epstein, were showrunners for In Treatment (HBO) and Gracepoint (FOX). As an actor, Dan’s films include A Mighty Heart, The Birdcage (SAG Award for Best Ensemble), and Urbania (Best Actor at the Seattle Film Festival). He has also appeared on Broadway in Tony Kushner’s Angels in America, as well as Off Broadway in plays by Jon Robin Baitz, Howard Korder, and Patrick Marber. Dan lives in Brooklyn with Anya and their two daughters. They have a dog named Louie, who is quite handsome.
