Stefania LaVie Owen
Stefania LaVie Owen stars as Nicole Chance, the daughter of Dr. Eldon Chance (Hugh Laurie), in Hulu’s new psychological thriller, Chance.
Owen is also known for her role as Dorrit Bradshaw in the CW’s The Carrie Diaries opposite AnnaSophia Robb. The hit CW show followed Carrie Bradshaw during her junior year of high school in the early 1980s, navigating her way through her teen years. Owen also had roles in The Lovely Bones, opposite Saoirse Ronan, and in the 2015 holiday-fantasy film Krampus, opposite Adam Scott and Toni Collette.
Up next, Owen will be seen opposite Alex Wolff and Chris Cooper in the coming-of-age story about finding J.D. Salinger in Coming Through the Rye. It screened at the Heartland Film Festival and at the Savannah, Austin, Denver, and Coronado Island Film Festivals. Owen received the Rising Star Award at the Coronado Island Film Festival. The film hit theaters on October 14, 2016.
This December, Owen stars opposite Katie Holmes in All We Had, an indie drama based on the best-selling novel of the same name about a mother’s relationship with her daughter. The film is Katie Holmes’s directorial debut, and also stars Luke Wilson and Mark Consuelos. All We Had premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and hit theaters on December 9, 2016.
A Florida native, Owen currently splits her time between New Zealand, New York, and Los Angeles. She enjoys fashion, yoga, and dancing.
Dr. Chance’s daughter, Nicole, is at an uncomfortable age where she’s trying to make her way in the world independently but still wants to be close to her father. Her parents’ recent divorce – and their separate lives – have left her at loose ends, searching for acceptance and love. Confused and vulnerable to outside influence, Nicole is a good but confused kid who comes up against trouble.
