SAMIRA WILEY currently plays Moira on Hulu’s original drama series The Handmaid’s Tale, a role that earned her an Emmy and NAACP Image Award nomination. She is also well known for her SAG Award winning performance as inmate Poussey on Orange Is the New Black. Wiley can be seen next in the independent film Social Animals.

Wiley’s past film credits include Detroit (directed by Kathryn Bigelow), 37, Nerve, Rob The Mob, Being Flynn and The Sitter. Additional television credits include a starring role on YouTube Red’s comedy series Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on TV, recurring roles on You’re the Worst and Unforgettable as well as appearances on The Catch, Law & Order: SVU and Person of Interest. Wiley also starred in the Off-Broadway play Daphne’s Dive, directed by Thomas Kail (Hamilton). She is a graduate of The Julliard School.

Moira is Offred’s (Elisabeth Moss) best friend from college, her fellow handmaid-in-training at the Red Center, and a connection to life before Gilead.
