Bill Skarsgard has already amassed an impressive resume of diverse roles fearlessly evolving his body of work. He most recently starred as the iconic and terrorizing clown ‘Pennywise’ in the adaptation of the best-selling Stephen King horror novel IT. The film which grossed nearly $700M at the worldwide box office was the biggest opening ever for a horror movie and the biggest opening ever for a September film. Skarsgard has also signed on for the film’s sequel which will be released on September 6, 2019.
He recently wrapped production for VILLIANS opposite Maika Monroe. The darkly comedic thriller follows a pair of amateur criminals who, after breaking into a suburban home, stumble upon a dark secret and two sadistic homeowners who will do anything to keep it from getting out.
Skarsgard also co-stars in Sam Levinson’s Sundance hit, ASSASSINATION NATION opposite Odessa Young and Hari Nef which will be released by Neon on September 21st. The film is about a group of high school seniors who are caught up in the haze of social media and partying. When they are targeted in a malicious data hack, all privacy is destroyed, and lives are ruined as deadly secrets are exposed. The small town turns on each other and descends into violent chaos as they hunt for the culprit.
His other film credits include ATOMIC BLONDE opposite Charlize Theron and James McAvoy, ALLEGIANT opposite Shailene Woodley, Theo James and Miles Teller, and EMPEROR opposite Adrien Brody.
On television, Skarsgard appeared as a series regular in Eli Roth’s Netflix/Gaumont hit series, “Hemlock Grove.” He played Roman Godfrey, the teenage heir to the Godfrey fortune and a seemingly haughty rich kid with a deep dark secret.
