Stevie and Carole discover Pine Hollow is having money troubles and try to help out. They ask Scooter to try and get the Saddle Club a gig singing. Pine Hollow’s money problems are worse than the girls thought and are surprised when Scooter gets them a high paying gig. But it still won’t be enough, so Carole and Stevie try and persuade Veronica to get her rich father to help, which just might work. Veronica’s father does decide to invest in Pine Hollow and with her father’s new investment in Pine Hollow, Veronica lords her newfound status over the other kids. However, the DiAngelo fortune is in trouble. Mr. DiAngelo is not telling anyone just yet as he has high hopes that a promising young racehorse he has just bought will turn his luck around. Mr. DiAngelo brings the horse and it’s famous trainer to Pine Hollow to prepare and train for Australia’s biggest race. Carole assists the famous trainer but when the horse starts performing erratically, Carole blames herself. It finally comes out that it had nothing to do with Carole and everything to do with the drugs the Mr. DiAngelo insisted the trainer give to the horse. Carole is extremely disappointed, yet somewhat relieved. The horse never made it to the race and Mr. DiAngelo sells the horse. He then must come clean, the DiAngelo’s are broke. Veronica is distressed when her father informs her that they are no longer rich. When Veronica is forced to work under the supervision of Stevie at the stables for her horse’s board, she decides to sell Garnet. Once the sale is made, Veronica bitterly regrets this decision and the Saddle Club feel sorry for her. The bank is foreclosing on Pine Hollow and the Saddle Club arranges a rummage sale to help the Regnerys with unexpected consequences.
