Hulu’s Information systems team is seeking a Senior Manager, IT Production Operations who will be an exceptional addition to our Information Systems team. As a Senior Manager, IT Production Operations at Hulu, you will help define the transformation of our tools and processes as we optimize our Site Reliability teams. The right person for this role will be a thought leader and a tactician who can communicate with all levels of management (internally and externally) and empowered to define and implement some of the most significant processes impacting our business.   • Establish the vision, mission, and strategies for the next phase of Production operations focusing on change and problem management and site reliability engineering
  • Work internally and with systems, engineering, and product management teams to evolve and roll out enhanced core processes and tools that will drive improvement service uptime up and customer satisfaction
  • Develop KPIs that will measure the effectiveness of both the people and the processes that you own
  • Provide hands on engagement in problem management in order to ensure the root cause and corrective actions of service impacting events are established
  • Help define evolutionary and revolutionary changes to system architecture to improve system performance and scale
  • Predicting and providing notice of potential system vulnerabilities for current and future solutions and implementations; providing specific recommendations and guidance to address such vulnerabilities
  • Define and drive enterprise-wide logging, alerting and monitoring strategies (on-premise and in the cloud)
  • Provide performance and capacity planning support/metrics
  • Work with key customers to define platform requirements and provide necessary training (software engineering, infrastructure engineering, IT Security, and NOC)
  • Find ways to provide meaningful information/anomalies to appropriate engineering teams (potentially through machine learning, etc.) to reduce or prevent outages
  • Lead and develop a strong, motivated team of support and service professionals, building the necessary knowledge, skills, and capabilities to execute the business strategies and maintaining the high level of customer service


  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 10+ years of IT / Large scale web application operations and administration in a 24/7/365 environment in a self-hosted, co-located data center or Cloud
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a senior management of large-scale operations and administration
  • 7+ years of overall technical experience, including deep technical knowledge of large-scale web services
  • Proven success in developing and communicating a business vision and strategic plans
  • Experience with the use and implementation of monitoring and management frameworks, including cloud environments
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing a structured change management process for highly available environments
  • Experience with Agie and DevOps methodologies


  • Organizational change management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with AWS strongly preferred
