SUMMARY

Hulu’s Data and Analytics team is seeking an Analyst, Advanced Analytics who will be an exceptional addition to our growing team. As an Analyst, Advanced Analytics at Hulu, you will liaise with business stakeholders to apply machine learning and statistical methods to identify opportunities across all lines of the business. You will promote the use of analytics as a critical value driver and source of competitive advantage across our organization. The ideal candidate for this role is familiar with taking unstructured business questions and coming up with actionable analytic solutions. You don’t just seek to apply the most complex method but can weigh the pros and cons of simplicity vs complexity and place a high value on understanding the why. The ideal candidate should be able to present results to technical and non-technical audiences and have a passion for story telling using data. If you are a highly technical analyst, and desire to bring our subscriber’s experiences to the next level, then this is the role for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop deep analyses using machine learning and statistical models while working collaboratively within the Data Organization
  • Use descriptive and inferential statistics (t-test, chi-square, ANOVA, correlation, Regression, Factor Analysis etc.) to understand subscriber behaviors, and help drive value across the business
  • Conduct reproducible data analyses and insightful visualizations that help tell a story
  • Produce action-oriented analyses, with the ability to clearly articulate results, both visually and verbally
  • Act as a consultant across the business, solving challenging problems using analytics

WHAT TO BRING

  • 2+ years of experience in a quantitative business analysis role consulting experience highly valued, though academic experience is also considered
  • Degree in a quantitative field such Economics, Engineering, Applied Math, Business/Marketing, Quantitative Social Science etc. from a top-tier university
  • Highly competent with quantitative data analysis and utilizing data to drive decision-making
  • Experience with the following tools/languages: SQL, Excel, R/Python, PowerPoint, Tableau or other visualization tools
  • Demonstrated experience using statistical, econometric, machine learning or data mining techniques in a professional or academic setting
  • Ability to tell a story with data both verbally and visually
  • Have an open mind to pick up new analytical techniques as requiredNICE TO HAVES Master’s in quantitative field
  • Experience and passion working within the entertainment industry
