SUMMARY

Hulu’s Living Room Platform team is seeking a Software Developer who will be an exceptional addition to our team. As a member of our team, you will work on Hulu's high-performance, cross-platform web browser-based platform for Living Room devices, such as game consoles, smart TVs, and streaming boxes. The right person for this role loves to code and debug hard problems, loves working with cutting edge hardware, and loves collaborating with a talented and positive team. If you are someone who enjoys working on projects that have millions of customers and having direct impact on their experiences, then this is a great role for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Contribute code throughout our platform codebase
  • Adapt proprietary and open-source code to new devices, toolchains, and operating systems
  • Implement new features to support device-specific functionality
  • Design and build new tools to improve app developer experience
  • Work closely with our app developers to support their goals of building amazing apps for our users
  • Help redefine how we all engage with and consume video content in the living room

WHAT TO BRING

  • 3+ years of experience as a developer
  • Great communication and collaboration skills and a strong teamwork ethic
  • Experience with high-performance code, such as in web browsers or game engines
  • Experience with C++
  • Experience with systems programming

NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Experience developing for embedded or proprietary devices, such as Playstation, Xbox, or FireTV
  • Experience with prerelease hardware and accompanying software: OS, platform APIs, toolchain
  • Experience working with web browser implementations like WebKit, Chromium, or Firefox
  • Experience with CI/CD technology (Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.)
  • Experience with distributed and monolithic version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.)
  • Experience with meta-build systems (CMake, scons, gn, Premake, etc.)
  • Experience with Java, Objective C, C#, or Python
