Ad Selector

The Ad Selector allows the user to control their entire ad experience during video playback by choosing the ad they want to see. The user will be presented with 2 or 3 category / video options. Once a selection has been made, the user will be presented with the video or category of their choice.

Branded Entertainment Selector

The Branded Entertainment Selector (BES) allows the user to control their ad experience during video playback by choosing whether to watch a long-form commercial, or to view the show with standard commercial breaks. This unit offers a great experience for theatrical and tune-in campaigns, but can also be used for extended content such as original webisodes or longer form video ads.

If the advertisement is for a movie, the user will be presented with the following options at the beginning of content play:

  • Watch the trailer for [Movie Name], and then watch the video commercial-free. (If selected, the user will immediately begin viewing the extended trailer)
  • Watch the video with normal commercial breaks. (If selected, the user will experience normal ad breaks throughout the content view)
  • In order to preserve a consistent video playback experience, the selector will automatically default after a specified period of time.

Custom Integrated Commercial

The Custom Integrated Commercial (or “CIC”) is an advertising solution that strategically integrates & aligns your brand’s values and messaging with Hulu’s in an exclusive, custom developed and produced commercial that feels like content.

Premium Slate

Premium Slates are a branded :07 video execution that appears before the advertiser’s video creative content to set the stage of the show. Advertisers can create custom video or leverage existing video creative. The video execution is accompanied by the standard intro text and “presented by:” voice over.

The premium version of the slate enables the advertiser to further drive home their brand message with dynamic visuals and sound, and just the right amount of energy to the start of the show.

Slate

A Slate is a custom branded title card that appears before the advertiser’s video creative in the first pod before the beginning of a show. The advertiser’s brand logo is shown on a :05 – :07 second animated screen with standard “presented by” intro text and Hulu provided voiceover audio (male or female option available).

Note: The advertiser’s video creative does not run with the Slate placement against short form content.
Client visual and/or audio tagline is optional.
Client provided solid background color (HEX/RGB value) is also optional.

Video Commercial

The Video Commercial includes placement of your advertiser’s video creative into any one of Hulu’s standard long-form content commercial breaks.

Hulu manages the encoding, hosting, and streaming of the video ads/associated creative assets.

Interactive Interstitial

The Interactive Interstitial is a rich-media unit that runs with or in place of a video commercial on living room or desktop. The interstitial enables greater interaction within the player space.

Production lead-time is typically 4 to 6 weeks from the receipt of the final assets. However, each Interstitial has a unique production timeline based off the project's scope and scale.

Interactive Interstitial Template (DR)

Our Direct Response Interactive Interstitial template is a rich-media unit that runs with a traditional video ad, and delivers greater viewer interaction within the player space. The unit offers several customizable elements including body copy, CTA button text and color, background color, and optional social icons. Because production for this unit is faster than for our classic Interactive Interstitial unit, it’s perfect for last-minute campaigns, specific DR messaging for each region and a great countermeasure against ad fatigue.

Companion

The 300×60 companion serves alongside the video commercial when the user is watching on PC in non-fullscreen mode.

The 300×250 companion does not serve alongside the video. It serves at the end of a piece of content as the next episode is loading.
