The Video Commercial includes placement of your advertiser’s video creative into any one of Hulu’s standard long-form content commercial breaks.

Hulu manages the encoding, hosting, and streaming of the video ads/associated creative assets.

  • 3:2 display aspect ratio is not accepted
  • No letterboxing or pillarboxing
  • Bitrate: Greater than 2mbps.

Third Party Tags

Hulu accepts standard tags and supports VAST from Hulu-approved vendors. For additional VAST information, please click here to visit our FAQ document.

Hulu supports VPAID in VAST tags for VPAID-approved vendors. Note that a vendor may be Hulu-approved for VAST, but not Hulu-approved for VPAID in VAST.

For questions regarding VPAID specs, contact your Hulu sales rep or campaign manager as well as your preferred VPAID vendor.

At this time we don’t accept iframe, ilayer, javascript, or internal redirect tags.

General Notes
  • Please note we cannot accept two :15 second spots from the same or different brand(s) to form a :30 second commercial. Each brand’s advertisement should stand alone and represent one commercial.
  • Unit can be targeted at a national or local level.
  • Video commercials are not directly clickable on most devices. As such, direct calls-to-action such as buttons or “click here” messaging are not allowed.
Metrics Available
  • :30s video spots on Hulu drive a 61% increase at building top-of-mind awareness vs. linear TV and a 22% increase at building purchase intent vs. linear TV.
  • Metrics provided to advertisers: Impressions, Clicks, Completion Rate, Time Spent Viewing and CTR.
