(Spoiler? But not really) Was I the only one who missed that the Captain chick was somesuper B.A. resistance fighter? First she writes a book... (I can see it... sorta) Then BAM-O she runs off to fight some anti-climactic battle, thats she "blows herself up" but lives....Just a terrible off shoot from the main story. Great idea for this show. The first few episodes, I think, really opened nicely. But towards the middle of the season, it just goes weird. The writers definately tried to put their hands into too many cookie jars. There were at least 3 different stories that first, started randomly in the middle(like the above), or second, didn't end. One last thing I want to say.... How the hell did he just randomly turn back into a human again?!

I liked it alot. One of the most enjoyable ones I've watched so far. Not fast paced giving room for more story, but enough action to keep you entertained. It may take a few episodes to get into but definitely worth it.

I give this series a 2.75 / 5I believe the title of my review sums up this series quite well. The animation was superb, the fight scenes were well thought-out and developed, and you really could feel what the characters were trying to impart to their audience. The problem though lies in the plot. I don't give up on anime even if I initially don't understand it. For example, I watched FLCL 3 times to fully understand several ways that it could be interpretted, after which I truly appreciated it. However this series I watched twice and I got out as much from it the second time as I did on the first. I'm not going to rehash all of the plot holes, loose ends, and small contradictions that I witnessed. To me it felt as if the creators were trying too hard to be philosophical and completely missed their own boat. The superfluous partial explanations drove me nuts. It's as if they completed a novel but inconvienently left out a quarter of the story.Bottom line, if you want to watch this series and enjoy it, try NOT to watch it straight through thinking that it will be worth it in the end and that everything will wrap up nicely. Watch it a few episodes at a time and spread it out.
