Weird Science

How many cult classics have superb acting? Some, but not many. Those of us who are members of the Weird Science/John Hughes films fandome are not members because we like the acting. We are fans because these movies make us laugh. John Hughes is not Scorsese, and that's what makes his movies fun to watch (not to say that Scorsese is not the most amazing director to ever walk to planet, but they are two entirely different film makers).Yes, Weird Science has some really, really dumb content and retched acting, but it was never made to be a movie eligible of an Oscar. I have loved this movie since I was a child (when it was released), and no matter how dumb and predictable it is, at times, I will love this movie until I am old and grey.
