This is based on a erotic video game, and the main character of the anime (Takashi Haneda ) is the game player. He has issues. It's not clear what those issues are at first, and this makes the show difficult to follow. Keep watching, however, and it begins to make sense as those issues are the basis for the show.
Can't reveal any spoilers, but none of the "random" events (on Earth or that other place) are truly random, and the ensemble cast (Shūsuke Chitose and Hayato Narita) must be watched closely. There's no nudity in the anime, despite the eroge origin, as the show focuses on the relationships between the characters. The show is funny, however, and ends on a heartwarming note. I was pleasantly surprised I stuck around when I was about to dump it after episode 3.
