Waterworld

Although Costner is by no means my favorite actor, I loved this movie despite him starring in it. Michael Jeter's small part was enjoyable as always. I didn't pay for the movie so I don't care what the budget was or that it didn't gross enough at the box office. I enjoy sci/fi and fantasy and this didn't seem to be a B movie, not in the least. The plot and writing is above average. The only think I felt that was the slightest bit cliche was casting Dennis Hopper as the villain. I have seen it many times and it remains one of my favorite science fiction flicks.
I also encourage anyone who enjoys sci/fi to watch this movie and decide for yourself whether you like it or not.

So I know that were all supposed to hate this movie and Kevin Costner and all that, but is it possible that we've been wrong all this time? I've watched this movie repeatedly over and over again trying to figure out what people hate so much about it and not only do I come up empty but I find the truth to be quite the opposite. Its a very original movie with an engaging story, a rich mythology, great action sequences, and not to mention a great score. I challenge you therefore if you are one of those people who has simply accepted that this movie is bad, to give it a watch and make your own decisions about it.After all, we're a society that decided 2001: A Space Odyssey was a fantastic movie, with that in mind is seems fairly obvious that you should decide for yourself what movies are actually worth watching.

Why was this the WORST MOVIE EVER?1. Kevin Costner.
ALREADY, from the get go, you've made your biggest mistake.2. $100 Million cost.
They basically used the same set plan as titanic. They could have just filmed off the cost of an island. Instead they BUILT AN OCEAN. 3. B-movie production at an A-movie budget:
Goes back to #2. The characters are lame, the plot cliche' (the only 'original' element is that the world is made of water. EVERYTHING ELSE is basically a 'Mad Max' style post-apocalyptic script. Not an ounce of originality.
