Well I decided to give the show a chance and I have to say I'm disappointed. I'm not surprised either. Giving Cleveland his own show was a horrible idea for two reasons.
1. He was the least interesting character from Family Guy.
2. Family Guy no longer has a token black guy as part of it's cast. (I'm sure that's against the law or something as every show with a predominantly white cast has a token black guy.)
At any rate, this show seems to be another attempt at creating a show that's vaguely similar to Family Guy yet different enough to be distinguishable. Seth McFarlane got lucky with American Dad. But even so, the series wasn't very good until the second season. I don't want to wait around that long to find out if the Cleveland show will do the same. The lesson to take away from all this is that spin off shows aren't always very good or successful. e.g. Joey, That Caveman Show or the reality show they gave that guy from the "My New Hair Cut" YouTube video. Of course there are exceptions. Such as Fraiser (successful), and Futurama (good). But these shows were given time and thought. They weren't just some idea a guy created with his buddies after blazin' a fatty.
