i'm enjoying the first 7 robotech saga, not much a anima fan but I sure could become one.

Overall, the Robotech series inspires nostalgia in me. Sure, the animation isn't in the same league with current standards, and the voice-acting is a bit choppy at times, but given the time period that this series made its state-side debut, this show is incredible. What struck me in re-watching this episode is the introduction of a few elements of reality. For instance, addressing the physical fatigue of the pilots and the military release of information are two things you could expect of a real military campaign. Couple this with the action and the soon-to-be romantic angles, and you have a nice vintage series.

I liked this episode, but then again I like just about all the RoboTech episodes. Though there is one thing that could be addressed, the women of this series Lisa, but more often Min Mei are extremely irritating at times. In this episode though it's got to be Lisa that takes the award for most aggrivating. On numerous times in the episode she belittles Rick and critizises his flying. Though Rick does have a few snappy come backs for her. Then when she's on the Mars base and just decides to basicly commit suicide by letting herself get killed in the explosion. Well don't let this keep you from watching it, the episode is still a good one with some new character introduction. Can't beat a show with giant drunk alien soldiers with a supperiority complex. Enjoy!
