Every once in a while an anime comes along that breaks the usual mold and has a style all its own. Baccano! is one such anime, a rare gem. Its often twisted, profane, yet absolutely hilarious all at the same time. This show will make you go "WTF" and fall over laughing, its the kind of show that will make you cheer for a psychopath in a white tuxedo, and its the kind of show that you can't turn your eyes from because it makes you want to know what's going to happen next. Baccano! just draws you in, its gratuitous bloodletting and gore is just a small part of the story's complex tapestry. Or, its just a really gory anime, with a few characters who make Hannibal Lecter look like the Pope, and does it all in a way that makes you laugh despite all of the death and destruction.Of course, this show isn't for the faint of heart. If you don't like graphic violence and blood you might not like this show, or this show will change your attitude and make you like anime that's gory. I'd recommend Baccano! for the established fan or the die hard Otaku more than I would for a beginner. Its funny, its sick, its twisted, and ... oh yeah ... its really funny. Anyway, if you're an Otaku you need this anime in your collection.
