Hulu - Baccano!: The Vice President Doesn't Say Anything About the Possibility of Him Being the Main Character

Ok so i do understand that subed is 9 outa 10 times better then dubed but when an exception like this comes along and the dubs are superb and u losers still complain about subs being better thats just ignorant and biased. think about it for a second most Animes that are dubed have a bunch of Japanese characters running around speaking English and it looks unnatural which is why Subd is better in the first place. But these characters are American and if u ask me it would seem unnatural to have them speaking Japanese in 1930's America. so yes This is one of those rare Animes that I would rather watch in Dubs. do my eyes and ears deceive me? could it be a Anime with good dubs?

When it comes to Japanese shows, I prefer the subs compared to the dubs. I can think of one or two shows where I liked the dubs, but for the remaining I usually can't stand the voice acting.

I watched Baccano originally in Japanese with subs a while back. After watching the dub, I must say it wasn't bad. The accents of the characters made it very enjoyable. See 17 other replies

I liked watching subs because the japanese voice actor usually do a better job at putting emotions to voice. Many times I feel the english voice actors sound like they are reading from a script.

The Baccano dub also isn't bad, and to me much better than many out there. It is fun to listen to the accents, and the language style of the 1930's. See 17 other replies

You should watch something however you can best understand it. There's no logical reason why a dub is automatically worse than a sub. Just because the Japanese voicing was done first does not mean it has captured the characters' voices more accurately. See 17 other replies

I hate to be a killjoy for this lame debate, however some animes actually are better off in english. This series has such a huge emphasis on the actual way that the people speak its just stubborn to not watch it in english. I cant immagine japanese people putting an old italian gangster accent into the series and coming out half decent. Yes jacuzzi's voice is rather irratating, but get over it and enjoy the series. great ep very interesting plot & setting, as for dub i seriously dont mind if its something like this, im a huge fan of subs over dub but for something like this subs just wouldnt cut it or give it that original feel/ make the setting. they did an awesome job of giving it the feel of the 1930s.
