When I was watching this show on TV as a kid I didn't know who Sam Peckinpah was. Dennis Hopper was an unknown as were most of the actors, at least to me.
But I loved that rifle and begged my parents for one and eventually got one made by Hubley toys that shot caps in rapid fire just like Lucas McCain's.
I wish I had that rifle now but it disappeared sometime when I was in the Navy.
Watching this show now proves what great taste I had in TV shows as this one was great. A series never to be made again in this wussified day and age. Oh for the good old days.
