I'm sure folks watching this during its original airing in circa 1958 said the same thing about TV, Americans and government. The difference is that now there is more transparency into the workings of all three, so there is a greater degree of criticism of them.

Excellent show. Great to see, Warren Oates (of Kentucky), went on to be an excellent actor in many western films. Also, a delight to see Paul Fix, who became a regular on the show. Mr. Fix had a brief, uncredited role in the "Star Trek" pilot, as the ship's doctor. Also a treat to see Nita Talbot, as the girl, she became a real fixture in 60's TV, including many roles. She was a regular on "Joey Bishop".

i agree with other poster. great show which usually has a moral lesson. the old west was a tough life and you had to fight to keep what you had, great episode.

These were the best, when television actually had moral content and Americans had a back bone (unlike today). Along with government, the media has sold itself to the whims of stupidity and greedy politicians. Maybe one day, some Americans will find their backbone again and put an end to the present day insanity. I, for one, shall not give others maddening claims on my life !!!
