I have read the reviews and discussions regarding the "Chuckie" episode but, I HAVE to say that his mother is deplorable. This piece of crap isn't worth the air time that she's gotten. How do you produce a heroin addicted baby? What is wrong with you?Can you honestly blame this kid for being so screwed up? Can you wonder where he learned it from? These people are horrible.
I too would cut off all resources to me if i had a child on drugs. i would not allow myself to enable my child to kill him or herself with drugs. Those who think Chickies mother was so wonderful. she could have prevented the outcome if only she had stuck to her guns. there is a way if one chooses him. the way the truth and the life.
This episode made me especially sad, I hate seeing what drug addiction can lead to. Chuckie seems like he is a really good person when he wasn't on drugs and I feel bad that his decisions led him to prison I just feel sad for him because I think he is a good man
I think for me Chuckie is the sums up what the whole series of Intervention is all about. Granted Chuckie grew up in special circumstances. All these poor rock star kids never stand a chance. The difference between his brother and himself says a lot. I know this sounds bad but to me (like his brother said) is the definition of a junkie. Yet he's so likeable you want to believe that he'll be able to turn it around. But I don't think he would even be able to. I mean he's been smothered too much. I mean he doesn't have a HS diploma and hasn't had more than a year of employment. This has been the best episode and it was one of the 1st.
This episode got to me that same way that the former basketball player did. I think that it's because my father was never there for me for these same reasons. I really feel what those kids are going through thinking, "you chose drugs over me?" Yet, what was so hard is that this is the first time that I'd ever thought of a child being born an addict and carrying on this addiction that has been with him his whole life. He really never stood a chance.
