As a Vet Tech from a very large University Vet Teaching Hospital, I can tell you its disgusting how much we push to vaccinate animals. Even of our own children! Most vets today, not all! are just punching the clock and collecting money. Very few are true healers today from what I see and hear at dog parks and what I saw in my 10 years at a major vet hospital.Us dog owners need to take back our animals health by being proactive and not assuming that every vet knows best, they can not know it all and really it not fair to them for us to assume they should.Medicine is a science and the art of practicing that is different for every doctor. We as owner need to be responsible for our pets and get educated on diet, shots, and what are pets are exposed to all day. Even changing the cleaning solution you use on the floor can cause a reaction in your pet. Pay attention and let your vet know these little details.I am a small dog owner, Long Coat Chihuahua and I am very watch full for what he walks on, eats, and sleeps on. These are for ever little two year old children we have. He does not get shots till his titers say he needs them. Ask for a titer check on your dog to see if they need shots. Might just save your little guy.Best to all you furry owners out there and thanks to the guys who shared their story!

Always get a titer check, for all vaccines - including rabies. The same is true for cats. My cat had malignant cancer in his chest and it took 2 aggressive surgeries before it could all be removed.Although no specific cause was determined his vet said that cancer is sometimes found at vaccination sites. As a precaution, my cat no longer gets vaccinations and has a note that excludes him from the yearly rabies shot.
