gee thanks for the tour of some of the worst area's around vegas (and yes i live here) find a couple of down on there luck people and turn it into the whole world is ending crap piece...check your figures yes this year was not as good as last year....lets just look at last year for a sec...hmmmmrecord numbers of visitors through mcaren airport, gambling, record setting NET revenues, food record levels of again NET revenue (actually surpassed gambling) Casio's overall..yep u guessed it RECORD setting income.so yes things are a little down from last year, but still better than any other year previous..OMG the worlds comming to an endyes is more forclosers than ever before..is also beacuse everyone bought houses and ended up upside down thinking they were gonna get rich off them..personaly loved how visited WORST strip club in town to hear how the poor strippers are suffering......of course coulda went 1 block down street to where lines are out door and place is at capacity 4 outta 7 nights a week...hmmmmmOh and really loved the guy with backwords hat in welfare office "there aint no jobs here man" that was special..... used to drive cab til last year (and yes i quit for personal reasons and yes have new job now) know for a fact they hireing among many other industries oh wait every job here drug tests ...perhaps he doesnt qualify. Red Rock Casnio...was there recently place is as busy as ever
Also opened new casino this year really wanna eat there fancy new buffet but cant cause takes over 1/2 hour to get through line to get into darn thing.couldnt even sit through whole thing so missed most of the part about UMC hospital....but yes place is going bankrupt.....thats cause 90% of people that go there dont have insurance...so they never get paid DUH...also have opened 2 NEW hospitals in as many years...Also love how hostess is walking around in winter coat and scarf...since weather has been in high 100's since idk MARCH till about 2 weeks ago and is still in high 80s - 90s when exactly was this filmed last december!!!??? BEFORE things even started to level off WOW they psychicwasnt even into watching this ep but when saw it and read synopsis had to look for myself, am glad i did cause now dont belive a word you say thankyou u saved me a bunch of timeReally love these so called "NEWS" "documentary" shows that have no basis in FACT on both sides of political spectrum

Would have been interesting to find a business or two who is thriving in the downturn though. We all know some industry booms while others fail.Also - I hate to be a jerk, but did anyone expect, Vegas, an economy based on luxury items and services, as well as excessive party spending, would survive in an economy where consumers are looking to save?In this way, I think Vegas is more recession prone, it's just consumers were too stupid to cut out splurging until it got really bad.

It's bad enough that we have far to few Asian Americans in the Mainstream either on TV
or in Movies and when they are it's always in some stereotypical role 30 years behind the times, I think you just have issues with the fact she's Asian? AA's don't have nearly enough role models as it is and you have the bleeping nerve to disrespect a really good Asian American investigative journalist who along with her sister Lisa are Beautiful Intelligent and great at what they do. Like her sister Laura has a good knack for seeing the story and doing just that. Every article and report I see about Vegas makes it sound like it's about to turn into the biggest ghost town west of Detroit. Yes things are tough. Unemployment is up, tax revenue is down, tourism is way down and won't improve anytime soon, foreclosures are through the roof, and other problems such as crime are looming. But no one seems to report on the positives.Housing prices plummeted, bringing rental rates down. I'm now paying 1/3 less rent for a nicer condo than I lived in three years ago, and I will probably buy a house next year and actually pay what it is worth, not what some get rich quick, house flipping speculator has paid a crooked home appraiser to say it's worth.Yes, the four billion dollar Echelon and several other developments are stalled, but the eleven billion dollar City Center is still opening at the end of the year and creating 12,000 new jobs. And those stalled development will start right back up when there is enough tourism to support them.Investors are waking up to the fact that Nevada has more renewable energy sources than any state in the union and within 20 years we can be completely powered by renewable sources and exporting energy to surrounding states.And when the economy recovers and people have money in their pockets again where do you think they are going to go after not taking a vacation in years. Vegas baby.
