no, he's not a magician, he's an illusionist. and when the explosion took place doesn't matter...especially since there was a speeding car flying at him, it's the fact that he was able to escape in the short amount of time given, even if the explosives were directed away. See 2 other replies

You can obviously tell the box is just taped inside to easily blow out. I wouldn't be surprised if its just loud firecrackers.I guess the drama is all int he setup. I'm a lot more amused with his small tricks than big ones. Wish they would show more of those.

I know what he was talking about when he said that he was dreaming for a sec. I have been knocked out more than once and that really does happen. You dream... and then you wake up and it takes a few seconds to remember what happened. Its pretty cool haha.

i love Chris and think that he is an awesome magician, but this was the first illusion where i wasn't shocked at how the trick was done. directional explosives could have been used to direct most of the blast away from chris's body. also it looked as if there was a split seconded between two explosions witch also would take alot of the "punch" out of the blast. more explosives used in a safer way equals a cool trick.
