Hard to complain about a rushed backstory in today's CGI driven noise blang bang fests that pass for movies today...hey! these are the good guys, these are the bad guys and why in a few seconds, and off they go. Remember, these were filmed in four or five days on a backlot, that's not Quentin Tarentino directing, and these were aimed at Saturday morning filler, not mainstream.
That's a pre Flash Gordon Larry Crabbe, and Tom Keene, etc. Keene had a lean to the left swagger you couldn't fake, and Bob Cummings at 26 predated his leering girl crazy mid fifities TV days that left most of us puking.....
Enjoy this fluff for what it is, from one of the great Western potboiler writers Zane Gray.
