Season three diversity drive contintues; so far episodes have dealt with Jewish people and Latinos, and in this one we have Pacific Islanders. I have a feeling I shouldn't hold my breath waiting for the gay story, though.
Adherence to tradition vs. being your own person, following your own dreams; guess on which side the Chief rolls? He helps bankroll a boxer then decides he should be anywhere except the ring. The actor playing the boxer seemed a little too petite for the role, but I guess there's a professional weight class for that. I didn't buy the romance at all; unfortunately, he wasn't even very convincing as an actor. And don't eve get me started on the tribal chief, who couldn've grown up in the Bronx. The episode as a whole is rather low key, and though not uninteresting, it just didn't feel like a whole lot happened.
Ed and Eve were barely presences here, and Mark only a little more so.
