We learn some vary surprising things in this episode. I'll list them in order of shock value. For starters, we find out that Dick is not insane. His mother, the car, is heard by someone else. There for it is now clear that he is not a sociopath that hears voices. The spirit of his dead mother truly does reside in the car. Secondly, Dave is a lawyer. Judging by what I seen in the first two show I would have figured something more along the lines of an equipment manager of a local football team or experimental drug test subject. Not that I'm putting down people in those fields, I'm only saying that I find it hard to believe that this guy passed the bar. And lastly, a car can get drunk.
Let's take a look at this last fact. For a human body to become intoxicated, one must ingest enough alcohol into the blood steam to effect the central nervous system and brain. Thereby effecting things like mood, motor skills, judgment, etc. So when Dave gave his mother, the car, alcohol anti-freeze, how did she get drunk? I'll be the first to admit that I know vary little about cars, but I'm sure as hell know that the anti-freeze is for the radiator. I might understand it more if, lets say, he poured the alcohol in the engine or gas tank. But the coolant system? Are we to believe that the essence of his mother resides in the radiator, much like we as people think of our soul being located in the heart or mind? Even if so, how does a thing in spirit form become drunk? Our bodies get drunk when enough alcohol is introduced, not our souls.
One thing I can say about this show. It sure makes you think... about how awesome it is.
