The artists name is Douglas Wakiihuri. He is a former champion marathon runner turned singer/songwriter from Kenya. You can get the CD from Amazon in Germany, but I don't believe it's sold in the USA. There is a link at www.marathonmovie.com under FAQ's that will take you to where you can buy the CD on Amazon.

Does anyone know the name/artist of the song at 46 minutes 40 seconds? It goes on for a few minutes. It's played a few times throughout the movie.

I've ran 5 marathons so far. Goal is/was/is 10. Some stress fractures have me reconsidering if I should continue. Watching this motivated me to go for a 5 mile test run today. It was great. I've decided to run Chicago- 2010.

Film was great.

This is a fantastic movie about endurance, dedication, and motivation. I got wrapped up in the emotion and swept away. I am thankful for the makers of this production. They showed us the ups and downs of marathon running/racing. I feel inspired to continue my efforts of losing weight, even though I have fibromyalgia. Some days, the pain is so great, I do not exercise. Thank you for the extra oomph in my stride.

Of course an inspiring documentary. Professional athletes are amazing people, but it's always nice to see those "normal" people participating, and that's what makes the Chicago Marathon such a great thing to watch and learn about.

Age, race, gender, physical aptitude, ANYONE can do it, and that's why it speaks to everyone.

With my car having been broken down for several weeks now, I've again taken to walking many places, like I did two years ago before I had a car. I've realised in this time that I've become very out of shape and almost spoiled, after seeing this I'm ready to get back to my weight 20 pounds ago, and see how far I can push myself. If I ever have the money to go out to Chicago, you can bet I'll be out there one of these years running the marathon. I won't make any spectacular times, but this is one of those things that you totally do for yourself, no matter what place you finish.

Exercise will keep you young...my wife is 30, looks like she is 20ish. She takes care of herself. Some of these athletes are extremists and that is not good, no matter. On the backside of this, it makes them tough (looks/mind/etc...).

Deena has overcome an eating disorder and other things that most people have not faced. Her spirit and will have kept her going. The sad part is eating disorders make you look "old", too, before your years.

Tags that are inciting or spiteful
Tags that might harass, abuse or threaten members of the community
Tags that may reveal your personal information or any personal information about children under age 13
Tags that promote illegal or immoral conduct
Tags containing special characters or more than 50 characters
