I disagree. The doctor, at the beginning of the episode, says that lacking emotion is not the same as lacking intellect which is why many of them have lives and even learn to pretend emotions during social interactions. The only reason to change a channel is because you have an opinion one way or the other about what you are watching. Opinions stem from feelings. She changed the channel because she *felt* bored by what was on presently, a simple sign of medical progress.I find it ironic that someone who has the opportunity to feel, to experience the wide spectrum of human emotion and the actions and creations that develop as a result, would use their *feelings* about the episode to determine the decision to feel as being dumb.In what way do they treat her inhumanely? They treat her as kindly as they do each other, even though they know that they could get away with being rude because she cannot feel and would not tell. They gave her what they thought was a gift, not necessarily a necessity: the ability to socialize and make relationships, the desire for self-preservation, the ability to appreciate what her senses collect, etc. They gave her the ability to *enjoy* life rather than just exist. The ability to *choose* whether or not live her life without emotion.
