Yes, it's vague. Yes, it jumps around a lot. Yes, it's bizarre and seemingly nonsensical. This is one of those movies that makes you work for the reward, rather than just slapping you in the face with it. Some people just want to be entertained, they can't step away from their ego long enough to let the movie in as it comes. It's supposed to be interpretive. It doesn't have only one meaning. The vagueness forces you to come to your own conclusions, without being completely sure if it's right or not. What's so ingenious is that the fact that it's vague is basically the point of the movie. What if you suddenly "got" the universe, in all it's beauty and horror? would that knowledge drive you insane or free you from the shackles of your own humanity? Movies like this get you thinking about them long after you've watched them. Love it.
