The blue chevy truck that bill really destroys pulling it on its side thru the ice, is the same footage from season 2, episode 8. This truck was upright in fresh water, not salt water. When they go in salt water, they're unrepairable. But many vehicles that have gone into fresh water are repairable, depending on thier value. I was an insurance adjuster in colorado for 26 years, and saw about half the water logged vehicles I came across get saved by various insurance companies. Most just required new carpet, upholstery, ect., mostly interior cosmetic items, while the mechanicals can be cleaned up. I wrote up a 6 week old cadillac that was up to its door handles in a lake. The guy launching his boat screwed up and his new car went down the boat ramp too. I saw it the next day, and thier was a dead fish in it! It was a $57,000 car, and was repaired at the cadillac dealer for around $18,000. That wasn't even near total loss, which would be around 70 % of the car's value. That pickup would have been cheap to repair, it's interior is so small. But Bill dragged it over onto it's side, and against the ice, really destroying it. If I were involved in that appraisal, I'd be going after the towing company for restitution. I guess they're really hurting for footage if they're reusing clips from earlier shows.
