Look at the thumbnail here on Hulu for episode 12. Although it's very rare, there are brief glimpses of Hagumi's "real" face, not the childish and deformed ones that are shown throughout the series to emphasize her cuteness. As you can see just from that moment when Hagumi is shown sleeping, she actually has the face of a beautiful young woman. what are you talking about her having the "language skills of a five year old"? She speaks perfectly fine for her age! She's a small girl who's been sheltered, enjoys the lolita culture like many girls ALL OVER do-it's not just Japan that has girls running around wishing they were some Rococo princess living in Versailles...American girls do it too. She has a father in a very elite and serious criminal career who would obviously protect his little girl, not to mention being raised by someone other than her parents and being of small stature and probaby being looked at all the time as something breakable or something they would desperately want to protect.
